Twitch Rivals will run the newest iteration of the League of Legends Showdown series in North America. The series of matches will be based on old formats, but will feature a longer schedule with less matches played per broadcast day, creating opportunities for teams to develop strategies against their scheduled opponents in the week leading up to their match.
Day “0” will be a draft approximately one week before the main event, during which 8 captains will draft from a pool of at least 48 other players. The draft will take up to 1.5 hours. Teams will be encouraged to help produce logos, assets, and other content that will be used in the presentation, promotion, and broadcast of the draft event.
Day 1-3 will feature a group stage with 4 teams in each group playing a Round Robin format, with each match being played over 2 games. Each team will play a match on each broadcast day, until by the end of Day 3 each team has played each other team in their group.
The top 3 teams from each group by total map score will advance to a 6-team Playoff bracket on Day 4, with the bottom team from each group being eliminated.
The /TwitchRivals channel is home to our anchored studio show and serves as a spotlight for participating Partner and Affiliate streamers as they face off in streamer vs streamer live competitions. You can also tune into the channels of anyone participating in an event to see their unique view of the action along with their community.
